Lincoln L100 paves the way for the future as a self-driving car with a mixture of past and present

Cars – Taking inspiration from the past and looking to the future, Lincoln unveils its new vision for mobility with the debut of the L100 Concept. The model was recently shown in Pebble Beach, where Lincoln celebrated the brand's centenary. The company expresses its imagination to see the car of the future in this model.

“Lincoln has always been one of the world's most consistent and stylish automobile brands," said Bill Ford, Ford Motor Chairman. In many ways, it is in an ideal position to launch into the future with great designs, zero emissions and experiences driven by cutting-edge technologies. He said that there is one secret to Lincoln's long-term success, and that is its ability to maintain its core values and love for innovation and building the future.

The new model features attractive aesthetics with a stylish and dynamic aeronautical-inspired design. The space in the interior allows for enhanced human connection in an ideal location that expresses Lincoln values and style. Joy Valotico, President of Lincoln, said: “We are at a special moment in our brand's history, where over the past 100 years Lincoln has pioneered its many innovations. With the L100 concept, we are reimagining Lincoln models from a new perspective that suits our customers in the future.

Develop future technologies
The L100 was created as a self-driving car with an intelligent driving experience, excellent connectivity and innovation based on modern software. The L100 uses the next generation of battery cells that will enable the vehicle to be treated as an integrated system. “Experimental cars allow us to reimagine and illustrate what new experiences can look like in life with the help of cutting-edge technologies,” said Anthony Lou, chief design officer for Ford Motor Company.

The interactive dashboard features a jewel-inspired console. The console replaces the traditional steering wheel in this self-driving car. The seat adjustment capabilities allow them to be customized to suit the type of flight. The space is designed in ways that allow for connectivity, as the front row seats can be inverted to create a social environment that enables front seat passengers to sit opposite those in the rear seats.
Transcend space and time, inside and out
The model has a comfortable and elegant low-to-the-ground design inspired by the world of aviation. It is smooth and streamlined in its details, with K-shaped details at the end of the car. The glass roof and rear doors are raised to create a true sense of spaciousness with Lincoln Embrace to welcome occupants. Smart wheel covers help enhance the impact of this feature, using lighting and sensors to indicate movement and battery life.

Lincoln experts designed the interior of the L100 with amethyst accents in the recycled suede fabric. They used environmentally friendly materials and luxury alternatives. For the exterior, the designers chose metallic paint instead of chrome with a triple-coat ceramic to accentuate the soft, warm white that turns into a cool blue.

The L100 Concept celebrates Lincoln's design heritage. It is inspired by the 1992 L model that was introduced after Ford Motor Company bought Lincoln.
