Mercedes has launched a new racing version based on the famous AMG GT3 racing car, the Mercedes-AMG GT3 EDITION 55, to celebrate the car's 55th anniversary; It was launched on the world's racing circuits for the first time in 1967 AD, which means that it has a long history in the world of motorsports, so Mercedes launched a new limited-edition version with unique and distinctive upgrades.

The new version of the Mercedes AMG GT3 came with many upgrades and equipment, including an exterior design with a distinctive chassis in gray “alpine MANUFAKTUR” with red accents that complement the body color, and matte finishes for the aero components; Like the front and rear diffuser, the rear spoiler, the air vent, the radiator grille, as well as the side sills, which are clearly visible in carbon fiber.
In addition, some red touches have been added to the sides of the car; Includes Affalterbach badge and distinctive AMG badge; A 55th Anniversary symbol has also been added to the rear spoiler to distinguish this special edition from the rest of the range.

Moving on to the interior of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 EDITION 55, you will find the anniversary sign fitted in several places, such as the seats come embroidered with the 55th anniversary symbol, as well as the “EDITION 55 - 1 OF 5” panels installed on the center console, and the seat belts get silver accents. Behind the steering wheel, there is a high-resolution Bosch DDU 11 display that displays important information such as engine speed, operating temperatures, rev times and the counter. When the car is started, the 55th anniversary logo is displayed on the screen.
All previous versions were approved by the FIA, except this time; Mercedes-AMG has not bothered to get FIA approval for the new AMG GT3 Edition 55, this means that the car cannot race in FIA events, and it also means that Mercedes did not have to limit its car to comply with the racing rules.
As a result of this decision, the 55 version will be powered by a 6.3-liter V8 engine that produces 659 horsepower, 100 horsepower more than the standard GT3 race car.
It is worth noting that the new 55 AMG GT3 Edition 55 comes in only 5 models, as it was handcrafted at the AMG plant in Affalterbach, Germany.
Five buyers of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 EDITION 55 will also receive a special IWC Schaffhausen and Pilot's Watch Chronograph Edition AMG in grade 5 titanium, which will also have the owner's race car chassis number engraved on the back.
