Bugatti does not plan to introduce electric cars or SUVs in the near future

Cars - Although Mate Rimac has been appointed CEO of Bugatti, he confirmed that the French company does not plan to make an electric car this decade. This comes despite the fact that Rimac relies mainly on electric cars. Mate Rimac said that there is no electric car in the company's plan for the next ten years. He also emphasized that no SUV was in the plan as well.

This means that, unlike the rest of the Volkswagen family, Bugatti will not ask its wealthy customers to convert to an all-electric vehicle. But this does not mean that the company does not plan to introduce electric cars. Rimac said the next generation of Bugatti's cars may include a degree of hybrid system. More specifically, the brand's next vehicle will likely be a Plug-in hybrid. This is because the company's CEO wants the vehicles to have a usable electric range.

And while the supercar sector is no stranger to hybrid cars, the range that these cars offer is very limited. The Ferrari SF90 and 296 GTB offer an electric range of up to 25 kilometres. McLaren Artura also offers just 19 kilometers of range.

Rimac said he wanted the Bugatti Hybrid to have a range of 50 kilometers to make it more useful to its customers. Late last month, Bugatti's design director was relayed regarding the successor to the Chiron. He stated that the car will not be offered with the traditional W16 engine, but with a smaller electric system.

As it resists the industry's trend towards electric cars alone, Bugatti will also break with the trend among automakers towards the SUV class. It will break many companies such as Aston Martin, Porsche, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, and even Ferrari.
