The German company, Mercedes, began announcing its plans and intention to go completely electric by the end of this decade, and recently a statement came from the car manufacturer, in which it was determined that the plans will go according to conditions in the markets.
This means that the company may stop selling cars powered by internal combustion engines in some regions and keep them in others, according to the requirements of customers in each region.
The company insists that its distinctive V8 engine will continue in the automotive world until 2030 or a little later, and this decision will be based on the conditions and strict laws that will come from the regulations on emissions.
Despite these challenges, Mercedes is aware of the difficulty it will face during the development of ICE V8 engines in the coming years, as the manufacturing cost will rise with the increase in stricter laws, which will affect the percentage of customers' desire to own cars after their price increases.
Since the company intends not to abandon these engines in accordance with the wishes of customers in some regions around the world, it will be difficult for it to justify the high prices and costs, especially when the Euro 7 emissions standards are introduced in 2025, which is the legislation on harmful emissions from cars.
While both Porsche and Toyota are testing synthetic fuels as an alternative to regular fuel when electric cars take over the world, Mercedes has confirmed its refusal to implement this solution as it is harmful to the environment.
